The fortifications and 17th century military buildings are only accessible on guided tours. Visit the calendar

The monument is closed on Mondays, January 1st, May 1st, November 1st and 11th and December 25th.

The fortified village is open all year round.

One ticket gives you access to:
- a guided tour of the fortifications and 17th century military buildings;
or
- the "Little Bighorn, by Ousmane Sow" exhibition.

BY CAR

From Briançon or Gap: N94 then D37 towards Mont-Dauphin.

 

BY TRAIN

From Marseille, Valence or Grenoble: 4-hour TER train service to Mont-Dauphin - Guillestre station.
The station is 3.5 km from the fortified village.

 

BY SHUTTLE

In summer, a free shuttle serves the village of Mont-Dauphin.
The shuttle circuit includes Guillestre bus station, Guillestre campsites, Eygliers lake and Mont-Dauphin/Eygliers train station.

Services and visiting conditions

Fortified village :

  • Free, compulsory parking for cars and coaches outside the village (approx. 300 m away).
  • Bookshop, craftsmen and restaurants
  • Toilets
  • Free access to the ramparts can be dangerous: beware of falls.
  • Bicycles are allowed inside the village: bike racks are available near the main buildings.
  • Rest area in the "Plantation" wooded area.
  • Rental for tourist accommodation and event activity inside the fortified village.

Guided tour :

  • The tour route is only partially accessible to people with reduced mobility, and includes many steps.
  • Photos permitted.
  • Leashed dogs welcome.

Disabled access

Four disabled parking spaces are available inside the village.

Access to the "Little Bighorn, by Ousmane Sow" exhibition is by staircase only.
